London or Paris?
I am beginning to think where my next holiday should be. I think it should be in Europe and two cities spring to mind. In fact i could visit both these cities. They are London and Paris!
London has that that feel of grandeur. That feel of aristocracy and ceremony. Paris on the other hand is romantic and stylish.
For me, Europe would be a 26 hour flight and that doesnt include any stopovers for refuelling or plane changes.
Does anyone have any prefernces for these two cities even if you havent been yourself?

I've never been to either, so I really cannot say, and if you were not from NZ, I offer to go along (at your expense, of course) as a translator in London). LOL!
Skip them both and go to Coppenhagen instead... one of the most fantastic cities in Europe... if you have to decide between those two, go to Paris and ignore the people but take in ALL the museums!
Gosh. I really want to see BOTH of them. Paris gives you the Louvre, but London gives you the Victoria and Albert. And in England you can see the home of Jane Austen, and the Bronte sisters and Shakespeare and the locations of all those fabulous BBC productions. And you have Theater at the West End and pubs and the possibility of seeing Kylie or Westlife. I'd go with London!
Never been to Paris, but I love London. I'm a city fan though... the hum and life in a big city really energizes me and London has that hum in spades! Almost too much to do and see there! I imagine the same could be said for Paris as well and I would love to visit that city too, but I'd go back to London in a heartbeat. The theater, the museums, the incredible underground. Take a day trip to Bath... wonderful!
You could do both, Paris is only an hour or so on the train, if you only do one though Id say London, Paris stinks! London has a lot more to offer and it has me as well !!!
Even though I haven't been to either city, I'd jump at the chance to go to London. I'm a true Anglophile.
I have a friend from Paris. She lives in Alabama now.
I would love to see either, but I am far more interested in London so that's my vote. :)
I've been to neither, but Paris for me. Love the french accent!
They're both great. But Paris is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I would go there first, especially since you just visited New York--there are a lot of places in London that feel like New York (Picadilly Circus/Times Square for example) Mix it up.
When I last went to London, I was 7 months old... but I have been to Paris since then... I say Paris... I love Paris.
If you cannot manage to visit both, which would be the best solution in my opinion, then there's no other word I can bring myself to utter: Paris!
Definitely!
Hugs!
:-)
London is fun- and you wouldn't have that pesky language barrier. You would just have to deal with them calling you a convict.
Paris is next on my destination list. Its snooty and fun and beautiful and there is so much to see. Paris is the London that London wants to be.
But French with a kiwi accent may be a bit off-putting...
There's always Amsterdam for sexclubs and hashish.
I have always felt like I should have been born British. So I would pick London ... although Paris also sounds inviting.
I'm a great help, huh?
