Constipation!
Today i have been fighting a headache. I woke up with it at 6am. I turned and tossed in bed then decided to take some paracetamol and codeine. It only just kept it under control. At midday i took some more!
One of the side effects of these pills is that you can feel a bit drowsey and it can leave you CONSTIPATED. I had to do a few chores today so you can just imagine me walking down the street into town all dopey. And yes you can guarantee that i met a friend of mine that i havent seen for years. Im sure she thought i was drugged out of my mind!!
Anyways, i'll keep you all informed about my constipation side effects :)
PS i know Americans can be a bit prudish regarding bowels and their contents but look at it as 'being natural'
Oh, by the way it's freezing outside tonight and we may even get a sprinkle of snow by morning...yes snow!

Freezing? It is to be 91F (34C) here today and its not even summer yet!
Sorry about the constipation! But I am surprised that you used codeine for a headache. Codeine makes me deathly ill. Are these migraines? I get one of those suckers now and again and they are not any fun!
I hope you're feeling better soon, both the pain and the pluggage.
One of the wonders of blogging is seeing your friends' weather conditions. I always knew the seasons were reverse on opposite sides of the Earth, but reading this and your previous summer posts drives it home.
Constipated?? You been doin' a bit too much fudge-packing??
Sounds like a migrane- not a headache. If you feel up to it, try jacking off-- it releases endorphins and helps a bit.
Hello dear Kevin!
Hope you're feeling better now, a few hours after posting «the news»... Lol!
For me, contipation is worse than headache, because I alqays feel totally helpless... And the pain can sometimes be devastating...
Wish you the best weekend possible!
(There's no way I can imagine Winter is arriving there... In my mind, June has always been Summer. Period.)
À la prochaine! :-)
Sorry to hear about your headache and the subsequent constipation. Isn't it terrible that often a medicine has side effects that can be worse than what it's intended to treat?
Try to stay warm. ;)
Hope you are not still suffering with a headache and that no constipation has occurred! I miss the snow!
Coffee also eliminates migraines for sufferers. I have a Mormon friend who even uses it as a medical substance (coffee is against their religion).
I eat a lot of fiber so constipation is not a problem.
You need to visit Lewis at http://www.spiritofsaintlewis.blogspot.com/ He said last Christmas that his entire family talks about bowel habits at the dinner table, and will drill into strangers visiting about theirs. Actually there is a subset of the US that is preoccupied with pooping (or not popping).
Get well. Try coffee (and it will unplug you).
I hope you are feeling better. It is the opposite of weather here in Baltimore and is hitting the 90's (f). I am longing for cooler temps but it is just starting. I think I am packing a bag and heading for NZ. Have room on your couch?
Sorry to hear you are not feeling 100 percent. Those are a couple of uncomfortable issues you are dealing with.
Personally, I like CB's brand of self medicating... in fact, I use that home remedy for just about anything!
No worries, I find that everything eventually finds a way out!
Hope you're feeling better! I think it's fabulous you take codeine for headaches...you're such a celebrity!
Hahaha ... see most from today (6/13). I wrote that BEFORE I saw this post of yours. Tee hee.
Such bad timing, Kev! Hehehe. The temperature here in Oslo has dipped a few degrees lower, too. Hopefully we won't get snow. :)
Hope your feeling better & well your plumbing isn't too clogged *winks*
I wish we had snow in brisbane but it would take an environmental miracle or perhaps disaster for that to happen...xoxo
P.s Gross @ the fudge packing comment...
Greetings from New York, USA ...how's the constipation? I got a chuckle out of the title and had to read on.
Hope you're feeling better!
