Gay marriage
I see from looking around at the blogs in America that there are a few political issues regarding gay marriage going on. I see that New Jersey has made some progress over the last week but much still has to be done. I also hear that there is a vote coming up in Virginia regarding an amendment. I believe if you are in Virginia that you should be voting 'NO'.
Here in New Zealand, we have Civil Unions which either a man or woman, woman and woman or man and man can join together. It fell short of marriage but at least it's a start. What is the situation in the state or country where you are?
Now, i have had a chance to read a lot of blogs and a few of you guys have left me some great comments. You guys know who you are.
I have decided to copy a few other blogs and Sundays are now going to be a day of you getting to know me a little better (if you want to) by opening up the floor to any questions that you want to ask me. They can be any questions you like from short to long to timid or personal. I am no prude so ask away............

I'm in Florida, and there's a law against same-sex marriage. Personally, I believe civil unions are an acceptable middle ground so long as the rights, responsibilities, and obligations are the same as marriage. I care less about the word and more about the substance.
As far as a question for you, I haven't had a chance to read all your archives, but you recently mentioned having a partner.
How long have you two been together? Are you civil-unioned?
Being a catholic country, same-sex marriage is still taboo around here. Strangely enough, Spain is only 200 km away... There's a law project though, and it should be discussed in parliament, but the socialist absolute majority got cold feet and decided to postponed it...
As to your request, I'd like very much to participate, but I haven't had the time to go through your blog yet. I'm sorry. But I have a question anyway: could you be that dot on NZ South Island on the map on my blog?
Best wishes! :-)
Yes i am the dot.
Kev in NZ.
It is an amazing show, you should definitely go see it...if it ever reopens.
Our country really is making a lot of progress moving towards gay marriage. I am confident that we'll get there, although it may need some extra shoving to keep things headed in the right direction.
I am in Maryland.. and it is really a democratic state but we don't have gay marriage or civil unions yet. But we are not too far from New Jersey so my partner and I may go up there and tie the knot! I will try to think up some questions. The only thing I know about NZ is that there is a lot of sheep and they make some great wools for knitting! (I used to be a good knitter but I have let it slide, need to get back to it.) What kind of hobbies do you have?
We have same sex cicl partnerships here in the UK, they don't call it marriage though. I don't see that as a problem as who wants somethign that hasn't worked for 80% of the straights that get married anyway.
