Thinking about it
Now guys, thanks for your comments regarding me possibly relocating to Australia. HOWEVER, i think i may have understressed that it is a long term goal so i might not get there for another year or two but i will however keep you all posted. I aint going ANYWHERE yet!
I have a question for you guys..........What stereotypes do you have of New Zealand?
Here are my stereotypes of a few countries,
France=Romantic
Spain=Siesta
Britain=aristocracy
USA=Loud people (Sorry Americans!)
Canadians=Hot mounties
Australians=Cork hats
Netherlands=Progressive and advanced.

aristocracy ? I guess we have plenty of queens over here! I think of Kiwis as my fellow Welshmen, chasing sheep over all the hills?

I think of Middle Earth when I think of NZ...
Not that all the countrymen are Hobbits or anything, but I do picture a very rural lifestyle and attitude... Laid back and non-pretentious...
And of course, tanned when we are white as sheep!!!

LOL....when I think of NZ, I think of the new "it" place to make movies. That and majestically beautiful landscapes.
My two ideas about the place NZ are: forested and uncrowded. The people: ecologically conscious. I don't know anyone from NZ other than you.
And you're totally right about Americans. There are other adjectives that spring to mind, but I'll try to behave. :)

Italian = assholes that talk with their hands
Australians = hot convict assholes
USA = supernice people
Israelis = conflict mongering assholes
Arabs = (see above)
Palestinians (see above)
Canadians = wishywashy assholes
South Americans = druggie assholes
Mexicans = job stealing assholes (unless they live in the US, then they're supernice people
Brits = snobby assholes
Germans = nazi assholes
Dutch = drugged out assholes
Swiss = eh, I'm sorta neutral on them
Russians = BIG assholes
Chinese = communist assholes

To be honest, I've not known enough about NZ to have any preconceived notions about them, other than perhaps slightly more laid back versions of Australians.

I imagine you have a lot of knitters because of the wool industry. I also think of Agatha Christie's "Sleeping Murder" because one of the characters is from there. Other than that, I don't know much about New Zealand. I will have to get down there for a visit and you can show me around!
I think of kiwis when I think of New Zealand.
