Getting warmer

Today has been like a real summers day. Temperatures have reached 28c with lots of sunshine. Tonight walking home from work was so mild that i could have walked for hours. It's hard to believe that this time last week i was in Canada with a top temperature of just 2c!

This is one of my favourite times of year. The weather is generally good, the longer lighter evenings are here and we still havent reached the longest day and Christmas is just around the corner. The general feeling at work is that everyone is beginning to wind down for christmas and the long summer break. Once one person starts to wind down others quickly follow.

It seems to so strange to read about winding down for Christmas and the long summer break! :)

BTW, as I type this (0810), my Firefox weather bot is showing a temp of -4C.

It's so odd to hear of Christmas being in a long summer break. I'd love to experience that once.

To answer your questions on my blog post...The ACC is the "Atlantic Coast Conference" and it's a collegiate athletic league made up of 12 universities. VT (Virginia Tech) is the university my eldest niece attends and they just won the ACC Championship in football.

I hope that helps. ;)

I love the laziness of the season, too.

Glad you had a fresh time in Canada and SEattle. Love the warm Christmas thing.

I miss how light and warm it was when I visited down there at this time of year.

We are winding down for the break as well. We close office on Friday for the holidays and those summer evenings are just awesome, although its been to hot to sleep properly. We are moving soon to our new place opposite the beach which is going to be so nice for summer. PS - when I was in Canada, they didn't get my accent either - the one lady thought I was from Australia and when I told her I was from South Africa, she screamed from excitement. Strange, but friendly indeed!

Hey Kev, I would totally trade some of that amazing New Zealand summer for this harsh NYC winter! Glad you had a great time on your trip...ready for you to come to NYC!

Thanks for sharing that Kev. Now I'm insanely jealous... esp since we have 4c here.. but that said we do have the radiator on and it feels like 20c.

I did warn you Canada would be cold.
